October Reading Wrap-Up

Time for the next monthly book summary, October was my worst month for about 2 years which shows how bad my slump has got.

I only read 8 books in October but did not have to DNF any books. I read a total of 2913 pages

1) Ghost Wood Song by Erica Waters ★★★★ – This book was so atmospheric and the perfect read for this time of year – review here

2) The Unbound by V.E. Schwab ★★★★– After reading and loving the first book in this duology, The Archived, a few months ago, I was really excited for this book and it didn’t disappoint

3) A Reaper At The Gates by Sabaa Tahir ★★★★★– This series is really out there ripping my heart out. I’ve devoured this series and cannot wait for the fourth and final book to be released. I love the characters, the story, just everything.

4) Nightblood by Elly Blake ★★★★★ – I thought the way this trilogy ended was perfect and I loved this book so much.

5) The Fascinators by Andrew Eliopolus ★★★ – I’m still unsure on whether this one is a standalone or the first in a series. If it is a standalone then I do not like how this ended at all as there are so many questions still

6) Legendary by Stephanie Garber ★★★★ – I’ve seen so many people say they didn’t enjoy this book and I honestly have no idea why because this was SO good. I loved how we got some questions answers but there is still enough mystery for the third and final book

7) Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan ★★★★★ – I’m absolutely loving this series and this book was no different. I love how we were introduced to some new characters and I also guessed the parentage of those characters which I’m very happy about (because I never guess things in books)

8) Burn by Patrick Ness ★★★– This book has me seriously gripped for the entire first half and then the ‘big thing’ happens halfway through and I was really confused. I feel like the second half was very anti-climatic and it just didn’t grip me as much with the second ‘big thing’

All of the books I read in October were for the readathon I co-hosted – The Royal Readathon Villain Takeover. Here’s the video for my tbr if you want to check it out – October TBR, although I did swap out a few of the books I used for some of the prompts. This month’s stack was easy to hold.
