Top 5 Vampire Books

So I have a lot less vampire books than I thought, but these are the 5 books (some are first in a series) that are my favourites.

The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine is a 15 book series (there’s also an additional book called Midnight Bites that’s a collection of short stories). I absolutely love this series; I love the vampires, even one of the vampires I hated at the beginning of the series and I love the main characters; Claire and Shane. This was a series recommended to me by my friend Charlie, who then lent me her copy of the first book and I’m so glad she introduced me to this series.

The Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare. Vampires are in all of the books in these series, but my favourite vampire Raphael is in or mentioned in a few of the short stories in The Bane Chronicles. my second favourite vampire in this series is Lily who I also absolutely adore.

The Night World Series by L.J. Smith. This is a 10 book series, but be warned if you do go into this series, book 10 was never released and at this point I doubt it ever will be (which makes me want to cry). The first book in this series is Secret Vampire and let me tell you now you will love James and Poppy.

Slayer by Kiersten White is a continuation of where the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer left off, although note it is not canon and does not follow Buffy. This follows Nina and her twin sister who have grown up around the Watchers Academy, and although Nina leans more towards healing than violence, she ends up becoming the Chosen One, the next slayer and more importantly, the last slayer.

The Deathless Girls by Kiran Millwood Hargrave is a take of the tale of the brides of Dracula and is so creepy and atmospheric. I really enjoyed this but would have liked more nearer the end, and definitely not as much vampire content as I think the others in my list

Do you have any other vampire books to recommend? This isn’t all I’ve read but I definitely do want to read more with vampires in
