Stories with Fae characters are just an almost certain winner for me. Growing up I absolutely loved watching Fern Gully and Peter Pan (I do believe in fairies, I do, I do). As I’ve grown older and begun reading, I know now that faeries do not just have to be like Tinkerbell; small with wings and fairy dust. I’ve read a few books over the last few years which are featuring Fae and I love them all.
Even though I’ve only recently got into reading Fae books, I’m now hooked and they’re one of my favourites now
1) Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas
I’m pretty sure Rowan Whitethorn is the love of my life and my mate, so Aelin you can back off now, thank you very much.
2) The Folk of the Air trilogy by Holly Black
I hate Cardan but at the same time I love him. Holly Black knows how to write fae, and she knows how to write it WELL!
3) The Dark Artifices trilogy by Cassandra Clare
Mark Blackthorn, Kieran, Gwyn ap Nudd to name the few I can. There are two others but I cannot say who without spoiling for people who haven’t read Queen of Air and Darkness yet.
4) A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
Oh my beautiful, amazing Feyre and Rhysand. I cannot express in words how much I love them.
5) The Magic Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton
This series was one of my favourites when I was growing up. It was such a magical story and I’d love to get my hands on them again as I have no idea what happened to the copies I had when I was a kid.
